Lenovo Design Group's Award-Winning Design Combines Tablet and Smart Speaker Functionality

The TAB4 Home Assistant Pack stands out for its unique properties. It is not just a tablet, but also a powerful speaker with Amazon Alexa voice command center. When the tablet is docked onto the speaker tower, the home assistant app automatically opens, performing all Alexa functions and displaying more information on the screen. When voice command is not needed, the tablet can be detached from the speaker and used independently, providing users with a versatile and efficient device.

The inspiration behind this design was to create a home assistant that could also function as a standalone tablet when not in use. This innovative concept has resulted in a device that offers excellent price-performance and a smart option for users to enjoy their Lenovo TAB4 series tablet in a whole new way.

The realization of this design involved advanced technology and meticulous craftsmanship. The home assistant speaker docking is made by an aluminum sandblasting base with anodizing finishing, assembled with an injecting plastic body. The main body is covered by a well-bonded domestic fabric for acoustic requirements, and the final finishing is UV skin feel painting.

The TAB4 Home Assistant Pack is designed with adjustable main body that allows different sizes of Lenovo TAB4 products to plug in. It is a domestic design with fabric, and when released from the speaker docking, it functions as a full tablet. The design process started in October 2016 in China and was completed in August 2017. The product was exhibited in IFA Berlin in September 2017.
